WHAT IS NAD
-
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a coenzyme that your body naturally produces. This coenzyme plays a role in several different systems throughout your body; counteracting tissue damage, maintaining muscle tone and function, encouraging healthy cell growth, and reversing damage to your mitochondria. NAD repairs and lengthens the ends of you DNA termed telomeres and thus is thought to slow how the body ages.
As we age, the natural level of NAD present in your body decreases over time. Factors such as stress, sleep problems, environmental factors, and drug use, can accelerate this process of reducing stores of NAD.
HOW DOES NAD WORK
NAD stores can be replenished. Replacing lost NAD can improve one’s health and may boost metabolism and combat age-related disease, improve cognitive function. Studies are promising that NAD may play a role in reversing neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer’s.
One major advantage to NAD is supporting healthy mitochondrial growth and function. The body’s mitochondria are considered the powers houses of the body. They are responsible for producing energy and found primarily in muscle. Aerobic training helps mitochondria make energy more efficiently. Through a series of adaptations exercise improves the speed and efficiency of these processes. This is important because this helps provide more oxygen. In doing so, more oxygen that gets to muscle cells, and the more quickly this happens, the faster and more efficiently the mitochondria can produce energy. Maintaining optimal levels of NAD ensures this process continues at an optimal level
There are two main ways to supplement NAD in your body: supplements and IV infusions.
IV NAD Therapy vs Supplements
There are two main ways to supplement NAD in your body: supplements and IV infusions. The goal of achieving adequate levels of NAD and cellular health is the same whether you choose an oral supplement or an IV treatment.
Grabbing an NAD supplement is as easy as placing an online order or stopping by your local drugstore, making them a convenient option for most people. Oral supplementation is as easy as taking a multivitamin daily. But are oral supplements effective?

Oral NAD Supplements
Oral NAD supplements are absorbed by your digestive system, which is a complex process that impacts how much your body actually absorbs. In fact, oral supplement absorption rates vary from person to person due to factors such as individual circulatory systems, gastric emptying time, and the body’s reaction to the supplement itself.
Because supplements are not fully absorbed, the relative bioavailability (the amount of a drug or supplement that your body can actually use) is very low. As a result, oral NAD supplements are less effective than IV infusions because of their low absorption rate.
It is important to note that oral supplements are very safe; you are not at risk of developing an infection as you may with IV treatment. Oral supplements may be preferable for certain individuals, especially immunocompromised individuals.

IV NAD Therapy
IV treatments are administered directly into your bloodstream. Because intravenous NAD treatments bypass the digestive system altogether, this type of supplementation ensures 100% absorption. NAD is immediately available for use by your cells.
In addition to the coenzyme itself, IV infusions have several additional benefits. NAD is delivered via a saline solution which rehydrates your body. The saline solution simultaneously flushes out toxins and free radicals. You can not only boost cellular health and regeneration, you can detoxify your body at the same time.
Why Get IV NAD Therapy?
IV NAD treatments are most effective when used regularly over time. Long-term maintenance and cellular support contribute to less overall damage to your mitochondria, a slower aging rate, and better cognitive health.
While oral NAD supplements may be convenient, they are not as effective as IV NAD. IV delivery ensures 100% absorption for maximum effect and minimal waste.
Each treatment takes a minimum of four hours to administer one NAD IV infusion. When you have a busy lifestyle, you may not be able to take this much time out of your life on a regular basis. That’s where delivery IV comes into play. A direct-delivery IV NAD supplement is the perfect way for you to enjoy the benefits of this amazing coenzyme while not compromising your time.
