DIHEXA

COGNITIVE REPAIR PEPTIDE

WHAT IS DIHEXA

Dihexa (also known as PNB-0408 or N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6) aminohexanoic amide) is a six-amino-acid peptide directly derived from Angiotensin IV (Ang IV). It is considered a nootropic drug that affects the central nervous system and assists in the regulation of insulin and memory / recall.

Ang IV is,  similar to a potent vasoconstrictor known as angiotensin II. It has been shown to increase recall in animal models of learning and memory.

Discovered in 2007 and first released in 2012, Dihexa continues to show improvement in cognitive function and the reversal of neurological damage.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DIHEXA

Dihexa has been found to potentially assist in the improvement of the cognitive functions that decline as a result of Alzheimer’s disease, or other similar dementias, by augmenting synaptic connectivity.
It was found to be more effective than that of brain-derived neurotrophic factor, or BDNF, and has the ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier.
Benefits may include:
  • Reduce the neurological damage induced by Alzheimer's Disease
  • Enhance cognition in seniors with cognitive difficulties
  • Show benefit in treating Parkinson's disease
  • Improved problem solving skills
  • Enhanced creativity

HOW DOES DIHEXA WORK

The exact mechanism is unknown, but many researchers believe DIHEXA creates new synapses. It is designed to cross the blood-brain barrier to not only increase memory but also retrieval of information.

It is thought that is can also help improve motor dysfunction by creating new synapses.

In disease such as Alzheimer's disease, many drugs target the reduction of a chemical in the brain that contributes to the disease where as DIHEXA creates more channels of communication to in essence reverse the disease process.

The same is true of Parkinson's disease where studies have shown promise to increase hepatocyte growth activator to prevent the movements in the disease.

WHAT IS THE DOSAGE OF DIHEXA

DIHEXA is supplied in capsules and a topical gel. Capsule strengths are 2 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg , 25 mg.

DIHEXA gel strength 20 mg/gm typically in a 30 gm volume.
